At HashiCorp, we build the infrastructure that enables innovation. Our suite of multi-cloud infrastructure automation products are the underpinnings of the largest enterprises in the world, who rely on our solutions to provision, secure, connect, and run their critical applications to deliver crucial services, communications tools, and entertainment platforms to the world. We’re building a once-in-a-generation infrastructure company with a unique approach: rather than focusing on technologies for their own sake, we build workflows designed to solve real-world problems.
We are looking for an outstanding communicator to head and expand our Corporate Communications function. You know the strategies and approaches to help HashiCorp build on its strong technical and open source community reputation to become known as the key player in enabling multi-cloud software infrastructure for large enterprises.
This is the first HashiCorp communications role based in our Asia Pacific region. You will have the opportunity to play a critical role in developing and executing our communications strategy in the region, with a focus on public relations. You will also collaborate on strategy and execution for byline programs, social media, analyst and influencer relations, and our customer reference program in conjunction with the global communications team to support APJ and help increase awareness in the region. Our goal is to extend the company’s public profile with our IT practitioner audience as well as build a positive reputation with the decision-makers of Global 2000 organizations.
In this role, you can expect to:
Create the communication strategy and plans for APJ, based on corporate communications and product plans, and in alignment with priorities and focus areas across each market in APJ (Japan, South Korea, ANZ, ASEAN).
Orchestrate the needed local components, buy-in, and specialists to ensure successful roll-out of product and company information in APJ in the most effective way
Manage and partner with our external PR agencies in APJ to increase HashiCorp’s awareness in key markets and across key audiences.
Handle public relations efforts for our core products, including news-focused communications, as well as responding to industry events and identifying timely opportunities to drive our product narratives across each of the key markets in APJ.
- Drive company visibility based on local roll-out of corporate messages and news. Create and deliver region-specific approaches for getting media attention and company visibility.
- Play a leading role in our external comms strategy and planning for our annual HashiConf Global event, which takes place every October.
Manage our byline content programs across each region, including identifying topics, appropriate editors, and managing the review process for these bylines.
Own strategy and plans for paid media programs (in addition to earned media) and byline programs for each region
You may be a good fit if you have:
Min 8+ years of corporate communications experience with an emphasis on public relations
Relationships with key journalists in tech, trade, and business press, as well as bloggers, influencers, and analysts located in APJ whose coverage areas are connected to the markets HashiCorp sits in
A finger on the pulse of the current media environment, how the business realities are affecting available channels, and how HashiCorp might best approach them
Excellence at product and company announcement orchestration and smooth, effective logistics in compressed timeframes, and amid multiple competing priorities
- Experience coordinating APJ focused announcements and releases, including strategy for content translation, and content creation (e.g. press releases) as needed for specific regions to support communications needs
Excellent writing skills for multiple communications approaches to convey the company’s point of view and make the content digestible by your targets
An understanding of and experience with open source business models and the marketing and communication nuances related to those
Strong skills at understanding your target audiences and translating the corporate storyline into an appealing and compelling narrative in all communication channels
Experience working with Product Marketing to craft compelling messaging for press and analysts to help guide and tune our messages for maximum impact
Experience collaborating internally with product, field, and revenue marketing teams, regional sales leadership, as well as external PR agencies
- Ability to collaborate and synchronize closely with a global comms team, meshing both the local/regional needs and the larger corporate initiatives to deliver strong results
HashiCorp embraces diversity and equal opportunity. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We believe the more inclusive we are, the better our company will be.
