Consul Virtual Day 2021
Join us for a 2-hour livestream event on all things Consul. Learn about the new features and updates being released, including Consul 1.10 and what’s coming up for Consul on the HashiCorp Cloud Platform (HCP Consul). We’ll also dive into our recent experiment to test out Consul’s control plane responsiveness and walk through the results.

Consul Virtual Day 2021 will include the following sessions:
The team recently completed a global scale benchmark to test the control plane scalability of Consul, and the results were incredible: 5 Consul servers were able to deliver control plane updates to 172,000+ service instances in under 1 second in a Consul cluster of 10,000 virtual machines. In this session, we’ll go over the experiment, including the architecture design and how we set the benchmarks, as well as review the control plane and data plan results.
Consul Service Mesh on Amazon ECS
A major goal of Consul is to provide service mesh capabilities to any runtime environment on any cloud. In working towards this, we recently announced an integration with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS). Consul is the first open-source service mesh that is compatible with ECS. Join this session to learn more about the integration and how to get started.
We’re excited to announce that federation with HCP Consul will be released this summer. In this session, join Consul’s product manager, Sirdhar Krishnamurthy, as he walks us through:
- How federation differs in HCP vs. Consul OSS
- The new Plus SKU and what the architecture looks like
- A demo of a federation, cross region deployment
