Getting Started with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Learn what infrastructure as code means and how it can help your IT operations reach a new level of productivity.

Speakers

Aaron Schlesinger hosts HashiCorp co-founder and CTO Armon Dadgar on the Open Source show to talk about infrastructure as code (IaC). What's so great about it? Armon explains how it allows you to create perfect duplicate blueprints of infrastructure to spin up large, complex, but compliant architectures. You can also see every change like you would in a version control system for applications, allowing you to 'debug' infrastructure, tracking down a small change that caused significant effects with ease.

HashiCorp Terraform is an open source tool that enables IaC, going from nothing to a complete carbon copy of your production environment at the click of button (read: you focus on building, testing, and deploying, not spinning up test environments and hoping they’re close to what’s in production).

00:58 What do we mean by infrastructure as code? 02:45 Key value of infrastructure as code 04:07 How does Terraform work? 05:22 How do I get started using IaC?
