Getting Started with Kubernetes & Consul

Consul is a Service Networking tool designed to connect applications and services across a multi-cloud world. With Consul, organizations can manage service discovery and health monitoring, automate their middleware, and leverage service mesh to connect virtual machine environments and Kubernetes clusters.

Did you know that HashiCorp has a Helm chart to easily get anyone started with Kubernetes and Consul?

It can be deployed onto Kubernetes clusters or Virtual Machines, either as servers or clients. To accommodate container workloads or heterogeneous workloads, Consul can purely exist within Kubernetes as a standalone deployment or has the ability to join a cluster outside of Kubernetes. Using Mesh Gateways, Consul clusters can be federated between each other allowing multi-cluster (and/or multi-cloud) communication across the Service Mesh.

In this “Getting Started” webinar you'll learn how to get Consul up and running in a Kubernetes cluster in about 10 minutes using the Helm chart. From there, we’ll deploy an application and show how we can secure communications between services in Kubernetes using the Consul’s Service Mesh; all through a live demo!
