A New Architecture for Simplified Service Mesh Deployments in Consul

In this session, learn how HashiCorp redesigned Consul service mesh to create a simpler deployment that works on more runtimes and makes operations easier.

Consul’s traditional architecture involves deploying client agents that all participate in the gossip protocol. This architecture needed to evolve due to challenges in deploying and operating Consul in different container runtimes.

»What You'll Learn

Learn how we replaced Consul clients with a lightweight component to simplify Consul's architecture for deployments in Kubernetes-based environments. This new architecture is founded on Consul Dataplane.

Get a deep dive into Consul Dataplane in this talk and learn more on in our guide to Consul Dataplane.
