Palo Alto Networks Panorama and Consul-Terraform-Sync Workshop

Recorded Webinar

As cloud adoption continues to grow, many organizations are moving towards hybrid/multi-cloud environments, gradually transferring some of their application services to public cloud platforms while also keeping their existing on-premises datacenters. This also means deploying NGFWs such as VM-Series closer to your workloads. As you start to deploy workloads across different cloud platforms the task of managing all these NGFW instances can be a cumbersome task.

Panorama enables you to effectively configure, manage, and monitor your Palo Alto Networks firewalls with central oversight. The challenge for large-scale networks is ensuring every firewall that enforces policies has the IP address-to-tag mappings for your entire user base.

HashiCorp's Network Infrastructure Automation (NIA) solution Consul-Terraform-Sync (CTS) can interface with Panorama and update the IP address-to-tag mappings via an automated Terraform workflow that gets triggered based on changes it detects from the Consul catalog. Panorama will then redistribute these mappings to your entire firewall estate within a matter of seconds regardless of their location - whether these are VM-Series NGFWs deployed in a public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, or hardware NGFWs in your datacentre.

In this hands-on workshop, learn how you can centralize the automation workflow of Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) managed by Panorama using Consul-Terraform-Sync.

What you will need:

  • A laptop that is Wi-Fi enabled
  • Practical experience with command-line tools and infrastructure as code is helpful

This Workshop will take place over Zoom. You will be provided with workshop environment access at the start of the session.
