Watch this presentation on modern multi-cloud challenges and see a demo deploying on AWS and GKE with one Terraform workflow.
Multi-cloud is usually situation companies end up with, not a path they choose. Along with managing legacy technologies and code, and general technical debt, infrastructures can become very complex over time, which exacerbates the need for tools that simplify the infrastructure provisioning workflow, allowing layers of abstractions for the day-to-day operators.
In this talk from RootConf, Technical Advisor to the CTO at Hashicorp Anubhav Mishra talks about these challenges and introduces HashiCorp Terraform as a solution for many of them. It's able to manage change across systems, cloud vendors, and on-prem datacenters. It can enforce automated policy gates for deployment and establish a smooth, collaborative workflow for developers and operators.
In the final third of this talk you'll see a demo using Terraform to deploy on AWS and Google Kubernetes Service with one workflow, using modules and showing off some infrastructure visualization tricks. Mishra will also use a tool called Atlantis to work solely within GitHub as well.
