Microsoft boosts investment in HashiCorp Terraform and Azure

Microsoft’s Corey Sanders shows off the increased investment in HashiCorp Terraform on Azure, including support for Module Registry, the Azure command line, and new providers.

Microsoft has been increasing its investment to make Terraform work fantastically on its Azure cloud platform.

Here are the highlights so far:

  • Terraform Module Registry—Microsoft released eight new modules, including compute, storage, networking. Making it much easier to deploy cloud services

  • Terraform is now pre-installed and pre-configured into the command-line shell that’s part of the Azure portal

  • New Terraform providers for Azure, including eventgrid (events as a first-class citizen), and containers (fast creation of instances, with per-second billing)
