We're looking for talented Security Engineers to join our Threat Detection and Response Team. This team will help defend HashiCorp through strategic detection and response across all of our products and enterprise. This person will be responsible for creating detections, determining how to prevent them in the future, and automating the response. You will work closely with the red team to prove out detections and continue to protect HashiCorp.

As a member of our Threat Detection and Response team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring we have the proper visibility and detections in place to protect HashiCorp and our customers.  You will work closely with engineering teams to turn detections into preventions where possible and continue to drive down time to detection across the enterprise.

Engineering at HashiCorp is largely a remote team. While prior experience working remotely isn't required, we are looking for team members who perform well given a high level of independence and autonomy.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Help drive detection strategy across the enterprise
  • Develop software and solutions to enable new detection capabilities and automated response
  • Ensure the team has proper visibility into logging sources
  • Research emerging attack vectors and techniques 
  • Document incident response playbooks
  • Create and run table top exercises
  • Work with other engineering teams to enable detections within their platforms and products

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience in incident response, threat intelligence, or infrastructure security
  • Programming experience in Python and/or Go and experience building security tools
  • Familiarity with securing cloud services running in Modern Cloud environments
  • Experience in developing and deploying cloud native applications
  • Demonstrated technical experience across related security disciplines e.g. appsec, intrusion detection and response, network security, infrastructure security, etc
  • Ability to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel
  • Previous experience working in collaborative security teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in Threat Detection & Response
  • Experience implementing and scaling security programs in a startup environment
  • Speaking / publishing in Tier 1 security conferences 
  • Publicly released tools or modules
  • You love to build and push the industry to do better
